Today was a happy day spent learning all about how to birth this baby of ours! In the class at United Hospital, we watched videos and heard explanations of the process and even got to pretend to relax a contraction away...lying on the ground with pillows and a blanket and soft music and breathing exercises! I felt a little funny, but I was also very relaxed. I almost fell asleep--either because I am so good at relaxing or because it was directly after lunch :-).
Tomorrow, we will have a tour of the labor and delivery rooms and learn how to check in when we arrive at the hospital. We also get to learn a bit about baby and what to expect while we are still in the hospital with the baby.
Time is ticking so quickly away!! Today I am 35 weeks pregnant and that means only a little more than a month to go before Nathaniel and I become Daddy and Mommy! It makes me want to cry with happiness! We are so blessed to have little Abraham or Audrey on the way! I can't wait to see our sweet little baby! Thank you Lord for the blessing of our baby!
Other than the whole baby thing, we are busy with many other pursuits. Nathaniel has been accepted into the graduate program at Bethel University to receive his Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology. We are keeping our eyes and ears open for other job possibilities for both of us (Nathaniel--something more in his field; Myself--something part time and flexible for after the baby comes).
We are involved in a wonderful small group with about 5 other couples from Bethlehem Baptist's south campus. We meet weekly for fellowship, prayer, and the study of Colossians. It has been fun to get to know more couples in a similar life stage to us.
On May 19th, 2007 I graduated from Northwestern College with my B.S. in Biology! It feels so good to be done with school, but I have this funny feeling like I really need to go back to school for something! After being in school for 17 years, it is easy to feel that way I guess. I do really enjoy learning and don't plan to be done, even if I am done with official classes for a while. :-)
We are still living in our same apartment and signed the lease for another year at the end of May. It is a very nice area. We like its proximity to the places we frequent and we like the country feel of the area. I am excited that for at least another year, unless we are strongly directed otherwise, we know where we will be. I still haven't figured out if I am a person who likes change or not. I sometimes get very excited over it. Other times, I feel like I am going to go crazy if things don't stop changing. Then there are the more frequent times when I know that the change that is coming is good, but I am still quite emotional about it. I think that I will be figuring that out for the rest of my life.
So that's a little update about Nathaniel and Lisa! I still haven't quite gotten the hang of the whole blogging thing, but I do aspire to excel at it! I feel like having way cute pictures of Baby A that I'll want to share with everyone will help to motivate me! Keep checking back to see if this turns out to be true!
